Dv@WorkNet GroupThe primary goal of the Domestic Violence at Work Network is to accelerate the development of the emerging knowledge base on this issue. Partners have collaborated participated in and collaborated on:

1) National and international survey research  to understand the scope and impact of the problem;

2) Survey research to understand the specific impacts of offender behaviour, on their own productivity and on the workplace

3) A Canadian-led international network to mobilize knowledge about domestic violence in the workplace, including research questions, new/promising evidence, and best practices

Partners have signed onto the Basis of Unity.

Our audiences are researchers, policy actors, legislators, labour organizations, employers, worker and domestic violence advocates, and survivors of domestic violence.

Study investigates effects of domestic violence on workplaces – by asking perpetrators

Researchers at the Western University and the University of Toronto released a new study today, taking an unconventional approach to understanding the significant effects of domestic violence in the workplace. By seeking the views of the perpetrators of violence, the study found that domestic violence perpetration, like victimization, has costs to the workplace in terms of worker safety and productivity and that most employers lack adequate resources to help perpetrators deal with the issue.
